Common inflatable medical tents are mainly divided into the following types:
I. Inflatable Tent for General Surgery
1. Features
This type of inflatable tent boasts a relatively spacious interior with a height sufficient for medical staff to stand upright and perform operations. Its internal structure is rationally designed to be divided into functional zones such as a surgical area, an instrument preparation area, and a passageway for medical personnel, so as to ensure the smooth progress of surgical procedures. The tent is usually made of special fabrics with waterproof, windproof and antibacterial properties, which can effectively resist harsh external environmental factors and are easy to clean and disinfect.
2. Applications
It is mainly used to carry out surgical operations in emergency rescue scenarios (such as earthquakes, wars, major traffic accident sites, etc.), including debridement and suturing of traumatic wounds, fracture reduction surgery, and so on. This inflatable tent can also be used to set up temporary operating rooms at makeshift medical aid stations in some remote areas, providing basic surgical medical services for local residents.
II. Inflatable First-aid Tent

1. Features
Inflatable first-aid tents are usually compact in layout to facilitate the rapid preliminary diagnosis and emergency treatment of the injured and sick. Generally, the tent is equipped with multiple entrances, allowing for the simultaneous reception of multiple casualties. Its interior is furnished with basic first-aid equipment and a drug storage area. The equipment includes essential first-aid devices like ECG monitors, defibrillators, and oxygen cylinders, while the drugs mainly consist of various emergency medications such as epinephrine and atropine. Moreover, the tent is usually in striking colors, often marked with a white cross on a red background, making it easy for rescuers and casualties to identify quickly.
2. Applications
It is mainly used for the emergency treatment of the injured and sick, including preliminary measures such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), hemostasis and bandaging, and fracture immobilization. After stabilizing the vital signs of the patients, they will be transferred to more professional medical institutions for follow-up treatment.
III. Inflatable Tent for Infectious Disease Isolation
1. Features
This inflatable tent has excellent airtightness to prevent the spread of infectious pathogens. It is equipped with an independent air circulation system inside; the air is discharged after being filtered, and the filtration system can effectively intercept pathogens such as viruses and bacteria. Meanwhile, the interior of the tent is divided into a contaminated area, a semi-contaminated area and a clean area. Medical staff must follow strict procedures when entering and exiting, including putting on and taking off protective clothing and disinfection. The tent material can generally withstand repeated disinfection with various disinfectants.
2. Applications
It is used for isolating and treating patients with infectious diseases. For example, during outbreaks of sudden infectious diseases (such as influenza pandemics, COVID-19 outbreaks, etc.), it can serve as a temporary isolation ward to conduct isolation observation and treatment on suspected or confirmed patients, while protecting the surrounding healthy population from infection.
